The hotel is located in the convent of Santo Domingo, built in the 15th century, a building with thick stone walls, vaulted ceilings and carefully decorated in Gothic style. From the Parador, the historic city centre is easily accesible. It is also close to the natural surroundings of Las Hurdes, Sierra de Gata, Comarca de la Vera, the Jerte Valley and the Monfragüe National Park. It has stone interiors with beautiful arches and colonnades, with decorative elements reminiscent of the Middle Ages. Like the rest of its common areas, its rooms have preserved their stone walls, with decoration that reminds of the Middle Ages. Its restaurant offers typical local dishes, such as pucherete de perdiz (partridge stew), lamb, migas extremeñas (fried breadcrumbs dish), local Iberian ham or the exquisite Torta del Casar cheese.
