The Este Oeste by Sercotel Hotel houses a little piece of Lugo’s history. You’ll notice it as soon as you walk through the door and reach reception. Under your feet, integrated into the hotel’s design, there’s an eight-metre stretch of decumanus corresponding to a street on the east-west axis that dates back to the Roman Empire.

The décor of the Este Oeste by Sercotel Hotel also recalls the past through the whitewashed walls of the rooms, the mosaics, the washbasins and the stone bathtubs with aged golden finishes reminiscent of ancient Roman baths. These elements, combined with the walnut and rattan wood of the wardrobes that adorn the 45 rooms and the noble dark wood floors, generate a balance and comfort for your enjoyment and well-being.

But history isn’t just visible inside the Este Oeste, it also envelops it. Our charming hotel is located in the Plaza de Santo Domingo in the heart of the old town area, which embraces the historical Roman Wall built more than 17 centuries ago to protect the ancient city of Lucus Augusti. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000.

If you stay at the Este Oeste Hotel you’ll be close to everything. The iconic Abastos Market, the Cathedral, the Plaza Mayor and the Provincial Museum lie just a few metres away. As does the Praza do Campo, the epicentre of Lugo’s gastronomy. Three streets lead off from here: Rúa do Miño, Rúa Nova and Rúa da Cruz. In all of them you’ll find a wide range of bars serving tapas that you’re sure to enjoy. It will be difficult to choose one of them because they all look wonderful.
